FOR THE COMMUNITY

Project Access means a greater understanding of the community’s health care needs and a solution driven by healthcare providers. In its first year of operations, the funding agencies of SFPA saw a return on investment of over 10 times their program contributions!  This is return is represented in terms of total administration costs versus the total value of services donated to enrolled patients. The qualitative value has come in the form of thank you letters, emails and phone calls from our patients. Please reference our link to the articles and publicity SFPA has received over the past 2 years.

SFPA works within existing community programs and leverages the talents and accomplishments of all community resources. As a tourism and service-based economy, Santa Fe County has a great percentage of its population working in minimum wage positions. The majority of these positions carry little or no insurance for their employees which leaves this population vulnerable to many illnesses which are easily preventable with prompt care. The subsequent result is an emergent healthcare need stemming from delayed care. Once an individual has severely compromised health due to an emergency, the chances that they may enter into a social and economic spiral are greatly increased.

Please see the listing of our Community Partners for a complete picture of our program support over the last 2 years.
